How To Lose Weight Without Exercise?

If you want to know how to lose weight without exercise then you’re definitely not alone, one of the most discouraging aspects of losing weight and getting in shape is the wide-spread belief that to lose weight you have to exercise. Don’t get me wrong, exercise is extremely important to maintain your health and vitality, and it will help you lose “some” weight if you do it regularly and by all means I urge you to do it, if you can. But does that mean that you can’t lose weight without exercise?

Absolutely not; Exercise contributes very little to weight loss. It’s food that matters, consider the following: One slice of Pepperoni Pizza is about 300 calories (you can check it online), that’s 1/8 of a regular crust pizza, if you do the math, that’s 2400 calories for the whole pizza (8 x 300).

To burn this amount off your body you need to run (it varies depending on your weight) about 24 miles. If you’re the sort of person who can run 24 miles on a daily or even weekly basis, then well congratulations.

My first attempt to lose weight was back when I was 16, my understanding back then was that exercising is not even subject to debate, exercise was the default thing to do if you’re serious about losing weight, that was the popular belief back then and that’s exactly what I did. I spent an hour every day running like a manic, and at the same time I was on a very strict diet. A month later it was obvious to me that I was indeed losing weight. This managed to reinforce my then mistaken belief that exercising is an integral part of losing weight. Finally, I thought, all the pain that I went through must be paying off, all this crazy exercise was just the price that had to be payed.

Now let’s go forward 3 months later, I remember coming home after exercising, tired and exhausted, sweating like a waterfall, thinking if this really is still worth it. 2 weeks later I got my answer, it was cold and definite: no it wasn’t. It’s human nature, I gave up, I stopped dieting, I stopped exercising and slowly but steadily regained every pound of weight that I managed to lose. It was a painful and an emotionally devastating experience and I wasn’t willing to repeat it, it kept overweight for next 13 years.

My second attempt to lose weight was much later, at 29. This time I decided to read more about the subject of weight loss and dieting, I looked online for an accelerated diet program, picked a specific one with an interesting from “fat loss 4 idiots”, specifically their 11 day diet (you can check it out here). In a nutshell, what I learned from this diet was exactly how to lose weight without any form of exercise, which meant that I could have lost weight easily back when I was 16 AND maintained my weight AND never had to exercise, if only I’ve spent some time educating myself on the subject.

Not only that, they also debunked many of the other myths that were deeply ingrained in me about fat loss and dieting. For a very long time, serious dieting meant to me (and I suspect to many others) starving myself to a certain degree. We don’t usually call it that, but that’s what it basically is, civilized starvation. Limiting our food intake to a point where our bodies are depleted of all energy and life force.

It turned out that this wasn’t really necessary either. You can lose weight by eating more of the right kind of food, without really starving yourself. Dieting is not this nightmare that many people think it is, it CAN be simple and effective, and CAN be done without exercise or pain. Once I finished reading this ebook, I decided to give dieting another try.

I’m now 30 years old and I managed to lose about 40 pounds and maintain my new weight by simply following a few “tricks” over the year, tricks that I learned about in literally less than an hour of reading, and I now know that I’m not going to regain this weight again. I almost feel guilty for managing to remain in shape without having to do any of the mindless extreme activities that other people are doing to lose and maintain weight. This shows how much we could really miss if we relied on “popular” beliefs and didn’t go and actually studied what these modern discoveries have to offer on the subject of weight loss and dieting.
